Support us by donating now

Great Lakes Womens Shelter is a safe haven for women and children experiencing homelessness and/or domestic or family violence on Worimi land in the Forster - Tuncurry (Great Lakes) region of NSW.

Our experienced staff work alongside families empowering them to gain access to necessary services to support them to get back on their feet, such as legal, housing, financial, family support, counselling and identifying  any other needs during their stay.

Thanks to the support of our local community and government grants, we have built a brand new, specially designed shelter that will accommodates up to 10 families at any given time.

We are now open for referrals for new families who need in-shelter support.

See contact us page for referral details.

Our Major Partners

We acknowledge the traditional owners of this land that we work and play on, the Worimi people. We pay our respects to their Elders, both past, present and emerging. GLWS is committed to reconciliation between all Australians.
